We Know This Forest

“We Know This Forest” is a collaborative project that uses the forest as a metaphor for living with chronic illness—an uncertain, nonlinear landscape where beauty and difficulty coexist. The woods symbolize winding paths, pauses, and moments of disorientation, while the act of going together emphasizes companionship over isolation. Rather than framing illness as a solitary struggle, the project centers shared presence, care, and adaptability. It invites acceptance of slowing down, getting lost, and resting as meaningful parts of the journey, offering a space where uncertainty is honored and no one is expected to find their way alone.
